SeasonSort is operated by Buffr LLC (Gilbert, Arizona, USA) (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what information the site collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. SeasonSort is designed to be privacy-friendly: there are no user accounts, and we collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account or provide personal information to use SeasonSort. The limited data involved is:
- Preferences stored on your device. Your chosen US region is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site can show relevant prices on your next visit. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
- Approximate region. To pick a sensible default region, the site may read a coarse, country-internal region signal (for example, a US region derived at our hosting provider’s edge network) and store it in a first-party cookie. This is an approximate region only — not your precise location, name, or address.
- Aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics. We may use a cookieless analytics tool (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible) that reports aggregate traffic trends — page views, referrers, general country — without cookies and without profiling individual visitors.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. These logs are handled by the host under its own policies.
How we use information
We use this limited information to operate and improve the site — remembering your region, choosing a sensible default, understanding overall traffic, and keeping the service secure and reliable. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and advertising
SeasonSort displays advertising served by Google, using Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including — where you have consented or where otherwise permitted — personalized ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to SeasonSort and/or other sites on the Internet. Where required (for example, for visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), we present a consent message so you can accept or decline non-essential cookies before personalized ads are served.

Third-party links
SeasonSort links out to third-party websites, especially the food blogs that publish the full recipes we index. When you follow a link, you leave our site and the destination’s own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Children’s privacy
SeasonSort is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention
We retain aggregate analytics and standard server logs only as long as needed for the purposes above. Device-stored preferences remain until you clear your browser storage.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, if we add advertising or a newsletter. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
